22 WAYS THAT GOD SPEAKS
Hearing God’s voice is vital to every Christian. The voice of the Holy Spirit is the pointing arrow and information medium that all believers must get acquainted with in order to walk in the ways of God.
WHEN WE GET VISITED BY THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST AND DO NOT RECOGNIZE HIM OR ACCEPT HIM, IT’S A CURSE
Mat 11:21-22, "Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you."
Listed below are a few mediums that God uses as channels of revelatory transmission to His people:
AUDIBLE VOICE –This is rare but very real. This is when you hear the Lord’s voice with your spiritual ears, but it is heard as if it is with your physical ears. This voice is usually very loud like thunder.
DREAMS- Dreams are very common and are one of the main channels that God uses. Joel 2:28, Numbers 12:6. We also see in Gen 46:2, "And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I." VISIONS – Though distinguished from dreams yet they are of the same revelatory visualization, however, they are not as common as dreams. A vision is like having a dream, but while you are wide awake either with open eyes or closed eyes. [Numbers 24:16, Proverbs 29:18, Daniel 2:19, Hosea 12:10, Acts 10:3, Acts 16:9, Daniel 10:7].
SEEING IN THE SPIRIT
There are areas in the bible where people saw things that were not seen by other people. Things such as: "Water Wells", "Soldiers", "Armies", "Chariots", "Water" etc.
This means that we live in a parallel world, but here is a scripture that is AMAZING.
Genesis 21:19, “And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink”.
Take note, her eyes were open. Was she blind? No! therefore, if her eyes were opened then it was not speaking of her physical eyes but spiritual. Else, there would be no need for her eyes to be open; she would have seen the well in front her. It is obvious that this Water Well was not physical, yet literal in the spiritual realm.
When ever the bible uses the term. "opened her/his eyes", it means the spiritual eyes.
In the natural realm it did not have a Well there, but God opened her eyes to see one in the spirit realm. The fascinating thing is, though it was in the spiritual realm, yet she could access it literally as a physical Well.
TRANCES-A trance is a prophetic ecstasy in which you are wide awake and are partially or wholly unconscious of objective sensations, but intensely alive to subjective impressions. They may take the form of visual or auditory sensations or else of impressions of taste, smell, heat or cold. Num 24:4, Num 24:16, Acts 10:10; Acts 11:5, Acts 22:17.
INNER KNOWING- This is having the revelatory unction functioning in your heart, which allows you to know something that was not communicated to you by an outside source. It gives you an assurance, an inner witness and peace that what you know is authentic and true.
PROPHECY- Prophecy is one of the prominent ways that God speaks to His people. God uses you, a yielded vessel to speak the oracles of God.
SIGNS/ORACLES- There are several instances in the Old Testament where God used an oracle or a sign to convey a message, such as the serpent lifted up in the wilderness or the skirt of Samuel's mantle being torn when Saul held it etc.
AN INNER VOICE- In many instances, God speaks to you in your spirit or heart and you hear a voice speaking within.
AN INNER WITNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT- This is when you feel a strong confirmation in your heart that the decision taken or word given is of God. You feel a strong “YES” in your heart about the situation, rhema, or decision.
INSPIRED THOUGHT- Many times God speaks a word in your spirit in the form of a thought. This thought is inspired and always comes with an inner peace and confirmation.
IMPRESSIONS -This is when God asks you to do or say something and you feel it in your heart as a strong prompting.
VISITATIONS- In many areas of the Bible, God gave a message to someone or to a people through angelic visitation or through a personal visitation.
CONSCIENCE- God will always speak through your conscience. This is a strong conviction of God’s dissatisfaction with your actions, thoughts or words, or His approval of your righteous actions thoughts or words.
HIS PEACE- This is a strong inner peace that you feel in your heart about something. If there is no peace in your heart, that is, you still have some doubts or confusion within, you need to seek the Lord further on the matter.
EVENTS– God may use a global event, economical event to bring about an end-time message or message of repentance.
PROPHETIC SONGS- God may give you or someone else a song that is prophetic in its message.
CIRCUMSTANCES– God uses situations in many instances to speak to His people. These also are signs that you must be able to interpret.
Oracles speak through things that are sign and indication that a voice is speaking and testifying of your spiritual condition.
Spiritual conditions speak through lifestyles...and is interpreted through the conditions of physical grooming, and daily occurrences.
