LIFTED HANDS ARE INSTRUMENTS OF AUTHORITY & POSSESSION
HANDS ARE ANTENNAS
Lifting up your hands in prayer is an invocation. When Christians lift up their hands it is not just a Christian or Hebrew custom, but it is an invocation where you connect the earth to the heavens in order to invoke a higher power – God.
It is a ritualistic gesture with spiritual connotations. It connects the gates by which you usher in a spiritual blessing.
Witchdoctors would do the same. Example, when a woman visits a witch doctor for a baby, during the ritual he would lift his hands, why? This is an invocation to the Queen of the South in order to open the gate to transfer the baby into the womb of the woman who is seeking for a pregnancy. This baby would most times be a demon incarnate- an avatar.
Whenever you lift up your hands in praise, worship, prayer, and thanksgiving, you are invoking a divine transmission that is charged with the power of Heaven to change situations in your domain.
Hence, when Amalekites came and fought with Israel in Rephidim, Israel’s victory was invoked from heaven, when Moses hands were lifted up towards Heaven. (Exo 17:11, “And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”)
