UNDERSTANDING CURSES
Generational Curses are actually episodes of compulsive habits, contrary behaviors or reoccurring calamities that seem to beset members of the family born to that specific family bloodline.
It can be rape, poverty, stealing, divorce, bareness, miscarriages, alcoholism, drug addiction, sexual affections etc. The agents of these sins are demons which are being pass down through the blood.
Curses come from (2) major sources; "Almighty God Himself" and "the Devil".
Also, there are two (2) types of Curses, "Generational Curses" and "Personal Curses".
Generational Curses are those that are being pass on from parents to offspring. Personal Curses on the other hand are those that come upon a person by their own personal actions.

GOD DOES NOT JUDGE CHILDREN FOR PARENTS SINS
Contrary to what we have been taught, the scriptures have given us a different light concerning the judgement of the children for the sake of the parents. Although we know that God still put curses upon generations through the parents, we also know from scriptures that the law of judging the children for the sins of the parents was cancelled at a point of time in life. Putting a curse upon a family, and judging the children for something that their ancestors did years ago are two different things.
If we look closely, we will see that God visited the sins of the parents upon the children unto the fifth generations as said in Exodus 34:7, “…will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth [generation]."
Numbers 14:18 - "The LORD [is] longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation]".
Deut 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,"
Having said that, we see in Deuteronomy, which is the last Book of the Pentateuch, God changed the judgement pattern. Deuteronomy 24:16 - "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin."
Ezekiel 18:20 - "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Eze 18:30 "Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Eze 18:31, "Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?"
Also in Jer 31:29, "When that time comes, people will no longer say, 'The parents ate the sour grapes, But the children got the sour taste."
Jer 31:30 "Instead, those who eat sour grapes will have their own teeth set on edge; and everyone will die because of their own sin."
Jer 31:31 "The LORD says, "The time is coming when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah".
Therefore, it is clear that before Deuteronomy God judged the children for what the parents did, but from Deuteronomy 24, God do judge the children for the sins of the parents anymore. The children may reap what the parents have sown, but this is not a visitation by God upon the parents’ sins.
