WHY THE NAME OF JESUS SOMETIMES
DON’T WORK?
Have you ever prayed and used the name of Jesus in the best way you know how, yet, it seems like nothing is happening?
Even in dreams, we would use the name of Jesus against demons and nothing would happen. We would even add adjectives to the name; i.e., "mighty name of Jesus", "holy name of Jesus", "precious name of Jesus" etc.; yet, nothing happens.
I have had these moments a lot, but had to swallow my arrogance and realize, the problem cannot be the Lord, but me. Then in meditation, the Spirit began to teach me the way of the name of Jesus.
The Name of Jesus has power and is given to us to overpower all evil spirits, nevertheless, being a Christian does not mean the name of Jesus will have power in your mouth. If we do not see the power of His Name in authoritative prayer, it is because of hidden sins. Secret sins are most common among Christians, but we read in 2 Kings 17:9, “The sons of Israel did things secretly which were not right against the LORD their God”. Also, Psalm 90:8, “You have placed our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your presence”.
The Psalmist also said in Psalm 19:12, “Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults”.
The Name of Jesus is only potent in the presence of God, and will have power in our mouth based on our level in God. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to Him being able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think, according to the power working in us,". The question is, what level of the power that is working inside you? The manifestation of God will be according to the level of God's presence upon a person or place.
The greater your relationship with the Holy Spirit is the greater the presence of God upon your life; and the greater the presence of God is upon your life means greater the authority of His Name in your mouth.
All Christians handle sacred things: Prayers, Praise Worship, the Word of God etc. These sacred things are sacrifices unto God, but the sacrifices of carnal Christians are unclean sacrifices and can bring judgement. Carnal priests cannot handle sacred things.
The ministerial gifts and fruits of a person do not testify to his relationship with God. God moves in a person's life by His grace, though a relationship invokes a dimension of God's hand.
Hebrews 12:14, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:"
Many people are pray and going into warfare against demons while they are living in sin, and walking in the flesh. They are deceiving themselves believing that they are releasing great anointing in prayer.
Because “sin” decreases the presence of God upon your life, your authority weakens every time you sin and wallow in it.
2Ti 2:19, “Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: "The Lord knew those who are His." And, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity!"
2Pe 2:22 “What they did is like these true sayings: "A dog vomits and goes back to what it threw up." And, "After a pig is washed, it goes back and rolls in the mud again." Mud represents sin and uncleanness.
The most profound scripture on this subject is found in Isaiah.

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened that it cannot save, nor is His
ear heavy that it cannot hear.
Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have come between you and your God, and your sins
have hid His face from you, that He will not hear,
Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perverseness.
Isa 59:4 None calls for justice, nor does anyone plead for truth; they trust in vanity
and speak lies. They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.
Isa 59:5 They hatch adders' eggs and weave the spider's web; he who eats their
eggs dies, and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper.

THE MOUTH
Our mouth also will have a part to play in this. If our mouths have sin, how can we see the power of Jesus name on our lips? Many of us speak lies, we gossip, backbite, speak evil of one another, and speak curses on others, in in prayer. Job said in 31:30, "Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul."
Proverbs 10:32, "The lips of the righteous know what is pleasing; but the mouth of the wicked what is contrary".
Also, demons use the words of our mouths:
Words through anger; Words through choice (I will only this kind of man); Words through suffering and hardship (negative confession).
A clean mouth is a key to power, yet, it all starts with your heart; what is in your heart will come out of your mouth.
PARENT'S SINS
Our power in Christ can be held back because of a judgement by God. This could be as a result of personal or generation judgment.
The most difficult secret sins to deal with are those of the Ancestors. Because it is impossible to know the secret sins of our ancestors except by revelation, it makes it difficult to break a curse of a certain iniquity. Therefore, God gave an opportunity to acquit themselves of the Generational curses. Leviticus 26:40, “If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; Vs. 41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Vs.42 Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
To see manifestations of God in your life, all things must be done in the Glory. Outside the glory is failure, but in the glory all things are possible, therefore, when you speak to your situations, you must speak in the glory. If you decree, wage warfare, proclaim, pray or worship; it must be done in the glory. This is where the name of Jesus has power to humans.
Also, lack of Faith is a major factor to not receiving answers in Jesus name. In John 14:12-14 Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes on Me, the works that I do he shall do also, and greater works than these he shall do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you may ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it”.
But when we read James, we see a profound guidance to understanding the asking in Jesus name.
James 1:6-7, “But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing. For he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For do not let that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord.”
NEVER FEEL UNWORTHY TO PRAY
Because of erroneous teachings given by ministers, many Christians are finding it very difficult to go before God in prayer due to their day to day short comings.
Ministers would make praying sound so difficult that members would feel inferior and unworthy to go before God. Their concept is, you are not qualified enough to be in a prayer circle or be a prayer warrior.
If you fall into fornicate, lie, cheat or do anything bad, they say that your prayer will be rejected by heaven.
This is a dangerous teaching that brings the spirit of self condemnation. It is a lie from the pit of hell. Those who fall into error are the ones who need to pray for transformation, reformation, mercy and grace.
Luke 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
Luke 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Luke 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
Luke 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
Luke 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Hebrews 4:14, "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Hebrew 4:15, "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."
Hebrew 4:16, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
According to Hebrew, because of who Christ is "The Sacrifice" and we are His sons and daughter, Roman 8:15-17, and the sheep of His pasture, Psalms 100:3, we have a right to pray in any condition. Though sin hinders our prayer, yet it does not disqualify us from our right to approach before our Heavenly Father in prayer.
Romans 8:15 says, "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Vs.16, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Vs.17, "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;"
